Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about LC Colostrum — answered clearly and backed by science.

1General Questions

What is bovine colostrum?
Bovine colostrum is the first milk produced by a cow immediately after giving birth, typically collected within 6 hours of calving. It is exceptionally rich in immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, IgM), growth factors (IGF-1, IGF-2), lactoferrin, proline-rich polypeptides (PRPs), and other bioactive compounds that support immune health, gut integrity, and physical recovery. It is nutritionally and biologically far more potent than regular milk.
Is bovine colostrum safe for humans?
Yes. Bovine colostrum has been consumed by humans for centuries and is extensively studied in clinical literature. It is safe for most people. Those with dairy allergies or lactose intolerance should consult a physician before use. LC Colostrum is FSSAI approved and lab-verified for safety with every batch.
Does taking bovine colostrum deprive calves?
No. Ethical collection is our top priority. Cows naturally produce far more colostrum than a calf needs in its first few feedings. We only collect the excess after the calf has been well-fed, and we work exclusively with partner farms that follow strict animal welfare guidelines. Calves always come first.

2Dosage & Usage

What is the recommended daily dosage?
The standard maintenance dose is 10g (approximately 1 level scoop) per day, mixed into water, milk, or a shake. For immune support or recovery protocols, 20–40g per day is sometimes recommended by health practitioners. We suggest starting at 5–10g daily for the first week and gradually increasing. Always consult a healthcare professional for therapeutic dosing.
When is the best time to take colostrum?
For best absorption, take colostrum on an empty stomach — 30 minutes before breakfast, or 30 minutes before exercise for performance purposes. Some research suggests taking it before bed can support overnight tissue repair. Avoid mixing with very hot liquids as heat can degrade immunoglobulins.
Can I mix it with hot drinks or cooking?
We recommend not adding colostrum to beverages above 40°C, as higher temperatures begin to denature the immunoglobulins and growth factors. Mix with cool or room-temperature water, milk, yoghurt, or smoothies for best results. You can add it to baked goods in small amounts, though some bioactivity will be reduced.
Is LC Colostrum safe for children?
Yes, bovine colostrum is generally safe for children above 2 years old and is sometimes recommended for pediatric gut health and immune support. Use half the adult dose for children (5g/day). For children under 2, always consult a paediatrician first. Avoid use in children with diagnosed dairy or milk protein allergies.

3Quality & Sourcing

What does "30% IgG" mean?
IgG (Immunoglobulin G) is the primary active immune compound in colostrum. A 30% IgG rating means that 30g of IgG is present per 100g of powder — meaning every 10g serving delivers approximately 3g of IgG. This is among the highest concentrations available in the Indian market and is verified by NABL-accredited third-party laboratories with each batch.
How is your colostrum processed?
We use a proprietary low-temperature spray-drying process that keeps temperatures below 55°C throughout processing. This preserves the biological activity of immunoglobulins, growth factors, lactoferrin, and other heat-sensitive bioactive compounds that are destroyed by standard high-heat processing. The result is a biologically active powder rather than a nutritionally stripped protein concentrate.
Can I get a Certificate of Analysis for each batch?
Yes — every B2B order above 1kg comes with a full Certificate of Analysis (COA) from our NABL-accredited third-party testing lab. The COA includes IgG content, microbial testing, heavy metals, moisture, and full nutritional profile. Retail customers can request batch COAs by emailing us with their order details.

4B2B & Bulk Orders

What is the minimum order quantity for B2B?
Our minimum order quantity for B2B bulk supply is 1kg. Orders between 1–10kg are processed within 3–5 business days.
